D1 Arkema : A battle with Montpellier not to be missed (samedi 15h30)
The two points left on the table away to Dijon (0-0) two weeks ago have put some spice into a period of high-level matches for the women's team. It is therefore that OL find themselves two points behind PSG as they prepare to go to Montpellier, one of the big sides of the championship, on Saturday (15:30), efore the long-awaited duel against Les Parisiennes on November 16th, at Groupama Stadium.
But one thing at a time; the players of Jean-Luc Vasseur take their matches in order and have responded very well after the performance in Dijon, initially dominating Bordeaux 4-0 in a match full of commitment, rhythm, and determination. They then set about finishing the job against the Danes of Fortuna Hjørring with a 7-0 win in the UWCL. The first two wins of the week allowed Wendie Renard's team-mates to restart a good sequence in D1 Arkema and punch their ticket to the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League.
It is now necessary to confirm this good form at Montpellier, currently 3rd in the championship and within 3 points of OL. Les Héraultaises have already dropped points in Bordeaux (0-1) and Soyaux (1-1), and most recently had a victory gained late in the game at Paris FC (5-2). OL have negotiated the trip to Montpellier well in recent seasons with successes of 5-0, 5-0, and 3-0. But they also know that they will have to show their best side to return with three precious points before the international break.
