U17 NAT : OL continues to impress against Montferrand (0-5)
In a match of extremes, between an OL side leading the championship and a team from Montferrand in second bottom, this meeting was all but a formality for the players of Amaury Barlet and Jérémie Bréchet.
The start of the game was somewhat complicated for Lyon who were struggling to really get into the game. The lack of application in their passes and the successive losses of balls do not allow OL to impose themselves on their opponent. However, Montferrand stumble against a solid and concerted defense. When inspiration is not to be found going forward, the solution often comes from dead balls. In this game, Lyon can thank Mohammed El Arouch who manages to open the score in the 24th minute, with a nice 25-meter free kick. The floating strike of the Lyon midfielder deceives the vigilant 'keeper of Montferrand, who is exempt from much reproach. The second major event of this first period was the expulsion of Diallo who receives two yellow cards in a row and leaves the pitch in the 34th minute. OL would thus play with a man advantage for more than one hour.
The Lyon steamroller is in action in the second part of this meeting and widens the gap very quickly through Samul Bossiwa, perfectly picked out by Gael Nsombi (55 '). Only two minutes later, it is the turn of the Lyon captain to shine, on a pass from Mohamed El Arouch who delivers his 5th assist of the season. The match becomes a real ordeal at this point for AS Montferrand who struggle to clear the ball and suffer Lyon's consistent attacks. Only two minutes after coming into play, Breyton Fougeu is already decisive with a superb cross for Gaël Nsombi, who scores his double (65 '). But the Lyon striker does not stop there and makes his hat-trick at the very end of the match on a new assist from Breyton Fougeu (89 '). The Lyon captain scores his 9th, 10th and 11th goals and is close to the 12 of Seku Lega, suspended for this match.
With 24 points out of 24 possible, OL continues to foil all opponents. With the best attack of all groups combined, and with one game less played, Lyon's offensive armada has again illustrated its effectiveness with these five goals scored. The next match will take place next Thursday, a derby against FC Lyon.
