Trophée des Championnes : A new title is on the line against PSG on Saturday from 15h30
At Roudourou in Guingamp, the two best French teams in recent years will compete in their first duel of the season. Co-leaders of the D1 Arkema with three consecutive victories each, and well-positioned to qualify for the Round of 16 of the Women's Champions League, OL and PSG will have to first decide the winner of this competition.
At the beginning of the season, both teams have strong goalscoring records. Already 27 goals have been scored by the players of Jean-Luc Vasseur, against 24 for those of Olivier Echouafni. This clash will be the first match played at a very high level since the World Cup, in which 15 players from Lyon and 11 from PSG participated.
In recent seasons, the duels between OL and PSG have been largely swung to the teammates of Wendie Renard. There have sometimes been close encounters, such as the first fixture in D1 last season (1-1) or a victory in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France for OL (1-0). Sometimes, however, they have been more lopsided, such as the defeat inflicted on PSG at Groupama Stadium in the return match (5-0).
