L'OL went Reims for their first trip of the season and a first meeting between two historic sides within French football. On one side, the first club in the country to have created a women's team and on the other, the best team in the world, played out a duel that quickly became one-way traffic for the latter.

From the start of the match, OL took the lead thanks to Delphine Cascarino (1 ', 0-1) and a first goal from Ada Hegerberg, for her 200th goal for OL (3' , 0-2). A thunderous start, Lyon were barely slowed by the reduction of the deficit from Feller (8 ', 1-2), after which Janice Cayman, making first appearance with OL, hit the bar (11'), a shot that was followed by the same from Amel Majri (13 '). After that, OL doubled the lead through Wendie Renard (20 ', 1-3) and Amandine Henry (29', 1-4), both assisted by the brilliant Dzsenifer Marozsan, before the first period ended in the same way it started: a flurry of activity, with another goal from Feller (40 ', 2-4) to which Majri responded just before the break. (44’, 2-5).

Less exciting than the first, the second half started poorly for Lyon who conceded a third goal (50 ', 3-5) in one match for the first time since the 2009-2010 season from Henin (3- 1). Their pride hurt, the players of Jean-Luc Vasseur responded at the end of the match. Hegerberg found the net from a Cayman cross (77 ', 3-6), before Parris got a penalty that Amel Majri converted (sp 81', 3-7) before a hat trick from the Norwegian striker (88 ', 3-8) to close the matter, while Le Sommer struck the post (90 + 4') just before the final whistle.

From this match, there are several takeaways. It was a positive start, this new display of attacking intent from Lyon, with a brilliant first half and the first minutes as a professional from Manon Revelli, a new academy product, but also there were negatives, including moments of defensive lapses of which the Reims players were able to take advantage of, and which were not to the liking of the Lyon manager.

Jean-Luc Vasseur :

"I look at the three goals conceded. It's a mess from our perspective. We'll look at it during the break so we can analyze everything calmly. It's a bit difficult to look at so soon after the match. We must approach the next matches with more motivation and concentration but I am not worried about it."

Amel Majri :

"It's nice to play and to score. It's a new position. I like to make an impression in the heart of the game and I did everything to do as much."

Manon Revelli :

"It's incredible. I did not expect to return to D1. It’s an an enormous occasion,  but it's gone too quickly (laughs). I hope my time with the first team will continue, that this is only the beginning. Everything came together very quickly for me. If I continue to work, there is no reason ... The coach told me to play simply and my teammates encouraged me."

Amandine Henry :

"We are frustrated to have conceded these three goals. The coach told us as much and we know that making such mistakes in big games will cost us. It's up to us to be careful not to repeat this."

Ada Hegerberg :

“I’m very proud of having reached this makr of 200 goals. I thank my teammates. It is a great pleasure. The competition is very healthy with Eugénie (Le Sommer). The players ahead of me are legends and it motivates me to go after them in the ranking of the top scorers of the club."
