OL pour it on in 6-0 rout of Angers
Moussa Dembélé and Memphis Depay netted a brace apiece, Jean Lucas opened his Olympique Lyonnais account and Houssem Aouar got it all started with a thundering goal as Les Gones crushed Angers 6-0 Friday night in their 2019/20 home debut. Groupama Stadium was ready for a celebration on Match Day 2 of Ligue 1 Conforama, as the Lyon faithful officially welcomed back club legend and new sporting director.
And celebrate they did, thanks to on offensive master class from Sylvinho's men. The result was never really in doubt once Dembélé (36') followed Aouar's 11th-minute stunner with a goal of his own in what was basically his first touch of the night. Any chance of an Angers comeback disappeared when Memphis got the best of Butelle in goal just before the break (42'). Dutchman picked up in the second half where he'd left off, bagging brace in a matter of minutes (48') while Dembélé followed suit with a brace of his own (65'). New signing put the cherry on top of the cake with his first Lyon goal, thanks to a brilliant set-up from Man-of-the-Match Memphis.
