WICC : Retour sur la dernière édition avant le départ des Lyonnaises
We look back at last year's participation in the 2018 Women's International Champions Cup, which went to the North Carolina Courage.

On Sunday morning, Ol Féminin will fly to the United States to compete in the Women's International Champions Cup. Jean-Luc Vasseur's will face Spanish champions Atlético de Madrid on Thursday (23:00 CET, live on OLTV) before taking on either Manchester City or North Carolina Courage on Sunday (23:00 or 1:30 CET live on OLTV).

The tournament, based out of Cary, next to Raleigh, will offer Lyon the chance to play two high-quality preseason opponents ahead of their D1 Feminine season opener against Marseille on Saturday, August 24 (15:30 CET), while also providing them with a chance for revenge...

... that's because Wendie Renard and company fell 1-0 to the North Carolina Courage in last year's final in Miami, after beating Manchester City 3-0 in the semifinals with a Eugenie Le Sommer brace and another goal from Ada Hegerberg.

This time around, the American club will still have the advantage of being in mid-season form, while the European teams are still in preparation mode ahead of their respective domestic championships. The Courage is currently leading the NWSL and will face the Portland Thorns this Sunday in a crucial league clash.
