OL visit Bournemouth in final preseason dress rehearsal
The British trilogy is coming to an end. After taking on two Premier League opponents, OL will face a third this Saturday in their fifth and final preseason encounter.
Bournemouth, who finished 14th last season in the league, will present another tough challenge for Sylvinho and company, who are coming off a 3-1 mid-week defeat to Liverpool. The Cherries have two wins (3-2 against Wimbledon, and 3-1 against Brentford) a draw (0-0 vs. West Bromwich) and one loss (2-1 against Girona) this preseason. With 33 goals between them last Premier League campaign, Ryan Fraser (7 goals, 14 assists), Callum Wilson (14 goals) and Joshua King (12 goals) are the club's top offensive threats - with the Scottish winger is also coming off the best season of his career after being directly involved in 21 goals.
For OL, it's all about making final adjustments ahead of next week's Ligue 1 Conforama season opener at Monaco. Several players have had much more playing time in the previous two games, including Joachim Andersen, who despite scoring an own-goal against Liverpool, was able to go 64 minutes against the Reds after putting in half an hour of work last weekend against Arsenal in the Emirates Cup. More importantly, he continued building his rapport with center back partner Jason Denayer during the first half. Houssem Aouar and Moussa Dembélé, who were decisive off the bench versus Arsenal, also started for the first time this summer and are looking to get more action on the pitch under their belts.
