. THE MATCH .
After two straight preseason defeats, OL was in need a confidence boost ahead of their August 9 Ligue 1 Conforama opener at Monaco. They got it Sunday at the Emirates Stadium with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Alexandre Lacazette and Arsenal. The anticipated reunion between Olympique Lyonnais and its legendary former player was unfortunately cut short when the forward was forced to abandon the game early on due to injury. Even without the star French striker, the Gunners put the pressure on throughout the first half, turning Lopes into one of the most active players on the pitch. There were so many saves the keeper could make, however, and Aubameyang gave the hosts the deserved lead 10 minutes before the break.
The second half was a much different story for Lyon, who played the final 45 minutes with recently returned France U21 internationals Tousart, Aouar and Dembélé, followed by new signing Andersen, who came on in defense for his first appearance with Les Gones. After firing several "warning shots," OL found the equalizer in the 66th minute when captain Memphis sent a cross that Dembélé headed home with class. The team's top scorer last season made it a brace less than 10 minutes later, this time making the most of a great service from Auoar to beat Leno in goal for the second time on the afternoon. The third time was the charm for Sylvinho and company this preseason - and with it came some hardware in the form of the Emirates Cup as an added bonus.
