Women's World Cup: 15 OL stars reach knockout stages!
The Olympique Lyonnais flag is still flying high at the Women's World Cup! Of the 16 OL players at this summer's tournament in France, 15 of them have advanced to the knockout stage with their respective national teams - a true testament to club's talent level.
Only the out of contract Sole Jaimes and Argentina failed to pass the group stage. The remaining Lyon contingent is still going strong: Henry, Bouhaddi, Le Sommer, Renard, Mbock, Majri, Cascarino and Laurent (France); Marozsan and Simon (Germany); Bronze and Parris (England); Kumagai (Japan); Van de Sanden (Netherlands) and Buchanan (Canada). The Round of 16 kicks off this weekend with a France-Brazil showdown and a direct clash between OL teammates van de Sanden and Kumagai among the highlights.
