The young Lyon striker was on target but France's U-20s fell 3-2 to the United States in the Round of 16. OL teammate Lenny Pintor came on as a second-half substitute.
Amine Gouiri's torrid scoring form couldn't avoid elimination for France at the U-20 World Cup in Poland, where Les Bleuets fell 3-2 to the United States Tuesday night in the Round of 16 despite the Lyon forward netting his third goal in four games at the tournament. Gouiri leveled things in the 41st minute after Sebastian Soto opened the score for Team USA, with France taking the lead shortly after the break through Nabil Alioui (55'). OL's Lenny Pintor came on in the 64th minute, but the United States turned the game around for good shortly after on goals from Soto (74') and Justin Rennicks (83').
End of the line for our boys at the U20 World Cup. Heads up, fellas! https://t.co/HZLNVRW5zu
