Bruno Genesio : « J'ai toujours senti une unité autour de moi »
Lyon's head coach hosted his last press conference ahead of Friday's season finale against Nîmes in what will also be his swan song on the OL bench.

Injury report

Nabil Fekir, Kenny Tete, Jason Denayer and Rafael are in treatment and will miss tomorrow's game. Rafa had surgery on his right adductor, while Denayer underwent an operation on the external meniscus.

Last week's win vs. Caen

I told the players that I was expecting a professional attitude in the last match... I'm waiting for the same thing tomorrow night against Nimes to finish the season. Yesterday there was a lot of participation and quality during training. I feel that the players want to play this game to win it. We must do the best possible in terms of overall points and image. Nîmes is a team that had a great season... The stadium will be full.

His last match as OL coach

I have a special story with this club, I was trained here. I'm leaving a family, a lot of people I love. But we must not regret anything and not forget the good times spent with the players, the staff, the president, the journalists. I think I have progressed in all areas because I have always been well surrounded by a competent and united staff, a president who helped me a lot professionally and on the human level... I also have competent players at my disposal. I always felt a unity around me, which allowed me to get through difficult times.

The future

This isn't the end of my coaching career but the end with the club that belongs to my heart and it will be even more special than last week I think. I have three options: to take a break, stay here, or continue elsewhere. I'm still thinking about how I want to live professionally and socially. For the moment, I will take a vacation, but it's true that I still want to coach although I won't do it at any price. It's a complicated job, you need guarantees. I would like to highlight Gasset's career in Saint-Etienne because he is a person I really love and wish him a good rest and a good retirement.

Thoughts on the season

Achieving the goal is a relief and something to be proud of. When you set goals, it's important to keep them. I think this season we could have done better in terms of consistency. But we had two goals: qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages and finishing on the podium in the league. It's done. After, yes, we could have done better. But, for my taste, I had a group that wasn't balanced enough, which is something I realized during the year. I have lots of memories here, like the 5-0 at Saint-Etienne for example... During these years, I discovered things that I didn't necessarily suspect. I want to thank all those who criticized me by their words and their behavior.

Léo Dubois

He has progressed in many areas. He works a lot, he is exemplary... He knew how to work to win his place. He has defensive and offensive qualities. He's scored important goals. He has an exemplary state of mind and I am very happy that he got called up by the French team. I think it's deserved and I hope he will seize his chance with France. I compare him a bit to Martin Terrier. They are both quality players and have a similar state of mind.
