Bruno Genesio : « beaucoup de joie collective »
Lyon's outgoing head coach visited OL Access Wednesday night ahead of his last game on the bench in Friday's L1 season finale.

His time at OL

"It's very emotional. There was a lot of collective joy and a strong relationship with my staff, my President and my players. We are only passing through when we are coaching. It's the end of a special story because I was raised at this club. We are constantly thinking and choosing... But we experience great moments."

His fondest memories

"The 5-0 win at Saint-Etienne and the phone call from my President after the (Europa League) elimination in Moscow are two very different moments. We then went on to win nine in a row. The elimination in the Europa League semifinals against Ajax and the lack of a relationship with the fans are my biggest regrets."

His loyalty and his future

"I'm proud of it. The stability of the club allowed that. I was so lucky to have people who trusted me. When I took over the team, I didn't make any plans. But now I know that I want to continue as a coach. I gained experience during these three and a half years and I'm not finished yet. I have three solutions: to rest as my friend Rémi Garde did, stay at OL or go elsewhere. A priori I would like to coach next year."

Third place

"This third place is a reflection of the season. We could have done better. Lille have been more consistent. They deserve second place. Montpellier and Saint-Etienne, with limited financial means, were successful... Both goals, to qualify for the Champions League round of 16 and qualify for the next Champions League, have been achieved. The Coupe de France is a big regret. That was a week that weighs heavily in the final balance... Overall, the season is successful."

The new internationals

"This is the reward of their work (Ndombele, Mendy and Dubois). I'm very happy for Leo (Dubois). He deserves it. He arrived with competition. He has a remarkable mentality. He has the soul of a captain. He often speaks in the locker room. This is a position where there is a void in France. He was very consistent in his second half of the season."

Jean-Michel Aulas

"He will remain a person who has marked me in both my profession and my life. I got the chance to know him well. We had a very special relationship."
