OL – Caen : assurer le podium à la maison ! (samedi 21h)
For the last game of the season at the Groupama Stadium, OL have a great opportunity to secure third place in front of their fans. But the opponents, SM Caen, are playing for survival as they're fighting relegation in Ligue 2.

The end of the season suspense never leaves Lyon, it's become some sort of habit. After a win versus Olympique Marseille, OL finds itself in great form having not lost in its last four games, like SM Caen. With three wins and a draw, the Normands can believe in their chance to remain in Ligue 1 next season as they visit to Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Although Lyon is four points ahead of Sait-Etienne, and 23 and they’re now guaranteed to play in Europe next season, for the 23rd time, the work is not done yet. If the suspense has moved away, it can return just as quick with one poor performance. Like last season, everything could play itself out in the last day of the championship. However, to avoid this dangerous and uncomfortable scenario, OL must earn a win versus Caen and they will automatically clinch 3rd place in Ligue 1 and will earn a spot in next season's Champions League.

The Opponent:

The Courbis effect? Since the arrival of the coach's adviser almost three months ago, SM Caen has found its strides. In 11 games (4 wins, 2 draws, 5 defeats), Fayçal Fajr's teammates rank 11th. A change was so dynamic that it moved the Normand from the relegation zone to the safe zone. Their hope of maintenance is reborn. Although Malherbe scored three goals for the first time this season against Reims in their last match, (3-2), their attack has struggled since the start of the season with only 29 goals scored (0.85 per game). Only Guingamp is worse.

The forces involved:

With several players in shape, OL looks to continue its fortunes from their 3-0 win at Vélodrome where the Anthony Lopes recorded the 100th clean sheet of his career. Offensively, 3 goals in 3 matches for Maxwel Cornet while Moussa Dembélé has contributed to 19 goals this season (14 goals and 5 assists). Although OL is strong against the Top 6, Bruno Genesio's men know they face more difficulties against the lower ranked teams, especially since Nabil Fekir, Jason Denayer and Fernando Marçal won’t be available for this match. OL drew in Caen 2-2 at the start of this season… our players should have this on the back of their mind to make sure they can finish their season on a high.
