Eight OL players named to French Women's World Cup squad

The French women's national team announced its 23-player roster for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup that will take place this summer on home soil. Unsurprisingly, there is a massive OL presence in the roster that Corinne Diacre revealed Wednesday night, with Sarah Bouhaddi, Wendie Renard, Griedge Mbock, Amel Majri, Amandine Henry, Delphine Cascarino, Eugenie Le Sommer and Emelyne Laurent making the cut. The overwhelming Lyon flavor to the squad was to be expected, considering the Reynald Pedro-coached team just lifted its 13th straight D1 Féminine trophy and will try to make it four UEFA Women's Champions League trophies in a row against Barcelona in the May 18th final. It's also a perfect chance for OL's stars to shine on the global stage in front of their home fans, since Groupama Stadium will host the competition's semifinals and final.
