Olympique Lyonnais bounced back from their mid-week Champions League disappointment and headed into the international break on a high note with a 3-2 win Sunday at home over Montpellier. Despite making six changes and missing several key starters (Lopes, Mendy, Marcelo) due to injury and suspension, Les Gones got the result they need to get back on the winning track and - more importantly - closing the gap on second-place Lille to just four points. Martin Terrier got things off to a promising start with an early goal, but Montpellier weren't about to go away quietly, leveling the score shortly after on a beautiful free kick from Mollet.

With the battle waging on in the second half, OL restored their lead on Moussa Dembélé's team-best 12th league goal of the season, after a fantastic through ball from Tanguy Ndombele. It was far from over, however, especially after the normally reliable Nabil Fekir skied his penalty kick over the bar. But Houssem Auour made sure to put everything in its right place by poking a header through the legs of Lecomte. This insurance goal would come in handy, as Camara pulled one back for the visitors in stoppage time. With Sunday's result, Lyon are back on track... and back within striking distance of Lille!

Without the injured Anthony Lopes, OL relied on Mathieu Gorgelin between the pipes on Sunday. The 28-year-old made the most of this opportunity with a solid performance against Montpellier in his 19th professional match - his 11th in Ligue 1 Conforama. He also played his sixth official match this season, a record for anyone who has never made more than five appearances in a single season. .
