After OL-Caen: Memphis gets his groove back

Memphis looked more relieved than happy: Goalless since November 10, 2018 - when he last scored against Guingamp - the talented Dutchman finally ended his drought and found the back of the net for the first time in over three months Wednesday night against Caen.

With six minutes remaining at Groupama Stadium and Les Gones holding on to a one-goal lead, Memphis struck a free kick that deflected off the wall and landed in the back of the net, sealing a 3-1 win and Lyon's place in the Coupe de France semifinal. Mobbed by his teammates, the number 11 barely cracked a smile... that's what 18 games without scoring will do to a player of his caliber.
The goal, however, was the cherry on top of a Man-of-the-Match performance that also saw the Dutchman help Jason Denayer open the score with his 13th assist of the season in all competitions (seven in Ligue 1, four in the Champions League, one in the Coupe de la Ligue and one in the Coupe de France). If Wednesday's display is any indication, Memphis got his groove back - and at just the right time for OL!
