Lyon's 21-year-old midfielder spoke to the media ahead of Wednesday's Coupe de France quarterfinal against Caen - a game he hopes to start to help prove himself in Bruno Genesio's squad.

Patiently awaiting his chance...

"I feel good. I'm patient because I know my abilities and I know that my time will come. We have good players and it's not easy to get a spot. This is my second year here, I do my best in training to keep improving. I talk a lot with the coach and he sees my improvement."

Relationship with his teammates

"The language barrier is very important. I speak French, so it helps me a lot to adapt. The locker room is very close. We all talk to each other and we laugh together."

Personal evolution

"Ligue 1 Conforama is different from the Spanish league. I had injuries. I think I've improved compared to when I first got here."

The loss against Monaco

"It's true that didn't give our best performance. We are a young squad, it's hard to perform every three days. When we don't play at our level we are disappointed and we talk about it in the locker room to fix it. We have to show our best level."

Wednesday's match vs. Caen

"I hope to play. I'll be ready if I play tomorrow. I will give my all. I think I can be a starter. I prepare for every match the same way. We give everything, every game, on the pitch. We are hungry to win."
