OL – EAG : ils ont joué dans les deux clubs
Since the 1990s, Olympique Lyonnais and En Avant de Guingamp have swapped 13 players, not to mention those who have worn the colors of both clubs during their football careers.

When it comes to player transfers, OL and En Avant de Guingamp have a very close relationship. In recent years, these two teams have swapped no less than 13 players and have seen a good number of footballers wearing both jerseys throughout the course of their careers.

From Guingamp to Lyon

OL have signed four players from Guingamp, starting with Florent Malouda in 2003. The former French international spent four years at Lyon before moving to England and committing to Chelsea.  After him, three additional players followed his path to Olympique Lyonnais: Bakary Koné in 2011, Claudio Beauvue in 2015 and, most recently, Fernando Marçal. The latest signing from Guingamp, who arrived in 2017, fits perfectly into manager Bruno Genesio's system by alternating between the fullback (in a four-man defense) and central back (in a three-man defense) position.

From Lyon to Guingamp

Simply put, the OL bridge to EAG is very active. The Rhone club has been a great provider of talent for Guingamp since since the 90s, with a total of nine players making the switch to the Stade de Roudourou. Among them, Fabrice Fiorèse (97/98), Hubert Fournier (00/01) and, more recently, Clément Grenier (17/18), who spent just half a season with the club before joining Rennes - but not before scoring five goals and delivering four assists.

They wore both jerseys

Even without direct dealings between both clubs, there are plenty of players who've had tenures at OL and Guingamp. They include Jimmy Briand, forever remembered by Lyon fans for his last-gasp derby winner against Saint-Etienne in 2013, as well as Christian Bassila, Mathieu Bodmer, and Tanguy Ndombele. The latter, one of Les Gones' rising stars and already a French international at 22 years of age, came out of Guingamp's academy, but never played professionally for EAG - instead making his debut with Amiens before joining OL in 2017.
