OL settle score with PSG, advance to Women's Coupe de France semifinal
Jessica Fishlock's 60th-minute goal was the difference as Olympique Lyonnais defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 to advance to the Women's Coupe de France semifinal.
More than 10,000 fans were at Groupama Stadium to watch Reynald Pedros' continue their run in the domestic cup and avenge their controversial loss to the Parisiennes in last season's final.
There was also controversy early on in Saturday's game when Lyon were denied the opener on a Paulina Dudek own-goal that was disallowed because the ball was ruled to have gone out of play in the sequence leading up to the fateful play. Then, in the 21st minute, Griedge Mbock missed from the penalty spot and wasted a golden chance to put the home side ahead.
Lyon's lack of finishing almost cost them in the second half, but goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi made a key save on Gueyoro (47'). Exactly at the hour mark, OL finally put things in their place though Fishlock (60', 1-0), who flirted with a brace shortly after.
In the end, the lone goal was enough for Pedros and company to settle their score with PSG and, most importantly, take one step closer to lifting the Coupe de France this season.
