Jason Denayer has developed something of a habit of making incredible goal-line clearances in his first season with Olympique Lyonnais. The Belgian centerback, who denied Saint-Etienne's Loïs Diony in last month's 2-1 derby win, doled out the same treatment to Angel Di Maria Sunday night, making a spectacular defensive play to help Lyon secure a 2-1 win over Ligue 1 Conforama leaders Paris Saint-Germain at Groupama Stadium.
Di Maria, who opened the score for the visitors in the 7th minute, seemed destined for a brace two minutes before the break when Juan Bernat served a ball on a platter for him inside the box. Using his trademark left foot, the Argentine beat goakeeper to the far post, only for Denayer to react perfectly and clear that goal-bound shot away with a diving header. A game-changing save that kept the score leveled at 1-1 instead of Paris taking a one-goal lead into the locker room. Truly, a save for the ages.
