eSports : retour sur le tournoi d'hiver Orange E Ligue 1 | CocoVBastos et Aero
OL's CocoVBastos and Aero took part in the Orange e-Ligue winter tournament earlier this month.

The Orange e-Ligue 1 Winter Tournament - the official competition of the Professional Football League, in partnership with Orange and broadcast on BeIN Sport - took place on the weekend of January 12/13, with Saturday dedicated to PS4 action and Xbox taking center stage on Sunday

As a reminder, participants in this tournament represented the 40 Ligue 1 Conforama clubs who won the tournament console qualifiers, as well as professional players under contract with a club or a structure that are validated by the LFP.

On Playstation 4, CocoVBastos was drawn in a pool alongside Akiro, a pro from Stade Rennais, Akiro, and PSG amateur representative Youngsmoker.

He started off with a 3-1 victory over his PSG opponent before drawing 2-2 with Akiro, from Stade Rennais, which allowed him to finish first in his group.

For the Round of 16 draw, CocoVBastos was paired against Lucryo69, amateur representative from Olympique Lyonnais.

In this all-Lyon matchup, it would be Lucryo69 who emerged with a 2-1 win, leaving CocoVBastos out of contention.

In Xbox, Aero was initially drawn with Amiens amateur representative WIP Astrol, along with Montpellier's Samy Lumine.

Aero also finished tops in his groups thanks to a 2-0 win over his Amiens counterpart and a 3-1 decision against Samy Lumine.

The Round of 16 draw set up a eSports derby, with Aero taking on Saint-Etienne representative Marvyn, a pro player affiliated with Nordavind DNB (Norway).

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be for Aero, who was off his game and dropped a 4-1 decision.

MARCH LQE QUALIFIERS

The weekend of the Orange e-Ligue 1 Winter Tournament also coincided with online qualifying for next Licensed Qualifying Event (LQE), which will take place in March.

CocoVBastos took part in the event, reaching the Round of 32. But with more than 250 players in the Western Europe zone participating, only four made the cut for the LQE.

There are still more qualifiers to come for both our players in the next months.
