Local bragging rights, implications in the Ligue 1 standings, settling old scores... the stakes were high in Sunday night's derby at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, where Olympique Lyonnais pulled out a dramatic, last-gasp 2-1 win over Saint-Etienne to leapfrog over their regional arch rivals and move into third place.

Given all that was up for grabs, it was no surprise seeing both teams going right at it from the opening whistle. Memphis put an early scare into the home side with a dangerous long-range lob before Hamouma headed in the game's opening goal for Les Verts in the 21st minute.

Down but not out, Lyon pushed for an equalizer that Ruffier resisted with several notable stops between the pipes. But Lopes was even more incredible in OL's goal, coming up with a remarkable double save on Khazri to keep the visitors in the game. And when Fekir finally tied the match (65') from the penalty spot with 25 minutes left, the momentum shifted Les Gones' way. In the end, it would take a last-gasp header from Dembélé, off a cross from fellow second-half sub Dubois, to give Bruno Genesio and company all three points and sole possession of third place. And what a way to do it!

Nabil Fekir converted his second penalty of the season against Saint-Etienne. The Lyon captain, who'd previously missed from the spot against Nantes and Strasbourg earlier this season, proved that he still gets the job done when he's needed the most.
