Stage : Bruno Genesio fait le bilan du stage avant Bourges en Coupe de France
On the eve of Lyon's first match of 2019, the head coach took stock of the team's three days of work in southern Spain.

His verdict on the training camp

It's positive, both for the training conditions and for the quality of the work provided here, physically, tactically and technically. Even though it was a very short training camp, I think it was interesting. We wanted to put the players in match conditions. We let them rest a bit more during the break because we had accumulated a lot of games during the first half of the season. It was good to take a mental break. They had been asked to do a program during the holidays and we saw that they were ready. Nobody gained weight. The players were ready to respond to the heavy workload required of them during these three days.

Upcoming challenges

The players are in very good shape. Now it'll be necessary to manage the next three matches that have only three days of rest between each of them. It will be very high paced, but we have the quality and quantity to field a competitive team each time. These matches will be very important.

Bourges and the Coupe de France

Winning domestic cups are always a goal for this club. You have to start this competition thinking that you can reach the end. The first matches are always a little ticky. You have to be well prepared with a lot of concentration and seriousness.
