OL closed out their 2018 calendar year with a 1-1 draw at Montpellier, finishing the first half of the season in third place in the Ligue 1 Conforama standings. Saturday's six-point showdown at the Stade de la Mosson ended with a point apiece for both squads. The home side appeared to take the lead in the 22nd minute, but the offside flag was raised as Delort celebrated his headed goal off a corner kick.

In the end, Nabil Fekir would break the deadlock with a lovely left-footed finish inside the box (67 ', 0-1). Just five minutes later, the captain argued for a penalty after going down inside the box, claiming he was brought down by Lecomte, but instead was shown a yellow card by the ref for simulation. With nine minutes remaining, Aguilar (81', 1-1) salvaged a point for Montpellier by roofing a rocket past Lopes. A fair result all things considered and a solid way to end a year. Let's see what 2019 has in store for Les Gones...

Nabil Fekir, Saturday night's hero, scored his 49th goal in Ligue 1 against Montpellier, his favorite victim (nine carreer goals against MHSC). The captain now ranks 12th on OL's all-time scoring list, joining Sidney Govou.
