Bruno Genesio: "We won't take any chances with Fekir against Guingamp"
"We recovered well from Wednesday's match. Leo is back in training. I think he'll be back next week. Nabil Fekir felt a little muscle fatigue in his adductor against Hoffenheim, but it's nothing serious. We will not take any chances tomorrow. He'll be at Clairefontaine on Monday. Martin Terrier and Jordan Ferri will be present."
The match against Guingamp
"All matches are turning points when you want to be at the top of the table. We must win them. It's an important match... They had a coaching change. This can give the team a little more energy... I take this opportunity to greet Antoine Kombouaré. It's always hard to go through these moments."
The 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim
"Overall we deserved to win the game but we weren't efficient enough. We could have avoided suffering the way we suffered at the end of the match. There has to be a mental explanation for conceding goals late in the game. But we're not going to fix it by nagging. You have to be able to take a step back and look at what worked well... We analyzed the video of the game. There were informal discussions with the players."
"There is sometimes a lack of aggression during scoring situations. That's one of the problems. We are not ruthless enough in front of goal. We sometimes favor playing well over efficiency. There is also a lack of confidence. We tend to add one touch too many, to lack spontaneity."
"He played a good match for the team. He showed involvement, his behavior was good. He makes a large number of runs, like Nabil Fekir. His match was neither catastrophic nor unacceptable, as the press made it out to be. I regret that we stigmatize a player. We talk about things that have no place in a match analysis. He also went though some tough spells last season and was huge in the final part of the campaign."
Playing with three defenders
"We have players to play in this system. It allows us to keep the triangle in the middle, to use the qualities of our fullbacks, who are very interesting offensively while also securing things in the back with the three defenders. There is Oumar Solet, who can join the team... I'm also thinking of Kenny Tete... Some coaches, even some of the biggest ones, have used more systems than me... When this is done in France, the coach is criticized. There is a different treatment compared to foreign coaches."
"What the president meant was that when you are in a negative context, it can have an impact. We tend to forget that players are, above all, men like you and me. Negative criticism can have an impact. This does not necessarily give confidence. We are here to reverse the trend. It's up to us to fight... We control our own destiny in the Champions League and we are still in the race in Ligue 1. We are not at the level we would like to be, but it's not catastrophic. The president does not let anybody off the hook and we aren't hiding behind anything. Nobody is saying that everything is fine."
