Reynald Pedros : « Une 2nde période plus conforme à ce qu’on se doit de faire »
The OL Women's coach revealed how a heated halftime discussion led to an improved second half that allowed Lyon to win 3-0 at Guingamp thanks to an Eugénie Le Sommer hat-trick.

Reynald Pedros

We started the match poorly. We were completely off our game. We did the opposite of what we said we’d do… We talked things over during the break. This was the first time I raised my voice. There are times when it’s necessary and this was the moment to do it… We changed the system by adding a player in the middle… It was more in line with how we play… Overall we’ve started the season off well, but we’ve had more problems than last season. We haven't conceded a goal, but there is a still a lot of work to do.

Eugénie Le Sommer

I hadn’t scored since the beginning of the season, so I’m happy. Today wasn't easy. The first half was tough. We didn’t know how to respond to their pressing… The coach let us hear it in the locker room, which is normal. Guingamp played pretty high in attack and left a lot of space in the back. It was different from other matches.

To play the way we did in the first half is unacceptable, even if Guingamp did a good job.. We weren't quick enough... we were way too slow. There are no excuses and the coach made it clear to us in the locker room at halftime. We came back with much better intentions in the second period.
