Shortly after introducing Lyon's two newest signings to the media on Saturday, the club president gave an exclusive interview to OLTV.

Mr. president, tell us a little about OL's active involvement in the final days of the transfer window

The last hours were intense because there was very little time to finalize the arrivals. We had targeted these players to compensate for Mariano's departure. Celtic didn’t want Moussa Dembélé to leave. He was extremely responsive and expressed his desire to come. Prices have gone up a little. We found a way to have him undergo his medical in Glasgow. We were also in discussions with Brest for Lenny Pintor. All of the club’s departments were active. Vincent Ponsot was remarkably efficient, as was Florian Maurice. It's a happy end to the transfer window.

What's your verdict on the summer transfer window, in terms of both arrivals and departures?

I’ve heard a number of things that are not based in reality. We didn’t make the commitment to bring in such or such player because there are many parameters. Initially we wanted to bring in a midfielder and a central defender. I had contact with Hector Herrera and Ruben Dias, who were both at the World Cup. The latter player didn’t work out, but we had the good fortune to sign Jason Denayer. We are very happy. He played a very interesting first match. He is a good signing. Regarding the midfield, things changed because Nabil Fekir remained with the team… We also made sure to re-sign players we were fond of, like Tanguy Ndombele, Houssem Aouar and Sheikh… We spent nearly 70 million euros during this transfer window, which began early with the arrival of Martin Terrier and Leo Dubois… The departure of Mariano was not wanted, but was accepted by the staff. He was replaced by Moussa Dembélé. It is therefore a successful transfer window. We will be judged by our results. The loss to Nice hurts [...] but we must remember the quality of the game.

What do you remember from last night's loss to Nice?

The loss against Reims was more boring because there wasn't the same quality and commitment that was shown yeterday. The quality of play has been noticed by all experts. There was a lack of finishing in front of goal. The arrival of the striker will help us fix this. We came across a great goalie. You have to know how to accept losses. We have a very good team, a staff that works well and the ambition to have a great season.
