OL looking for improvements against Wolfsburg

"We must fix some mistakes, but we also shouldn’t forget the first hour of play". In a nutshell, OL head coach Bruno Genesio gave his verdict following Wednesday’s preseason loss to Huddersfield by a 3-1 scoreline that didn’t tell the whole story of the match. That said, the boss made it clear that finishing - or the lack thereof - needed to be worked on, as did the defensive backline. These aspects were worked on during the training sessions in the lead-up to Lyon’s next summer showdown: on Saturday against Wolfsburg in Bourg-en-Bresse.

The opponent
The Wolves, who flirted dangerously with relegation last season and needed a strong turnaround to stay in the German Bundesliga, are keeping active this preseason, with seven matches programmed. Like OL, Bruno Labbadia’s have already played three friendlies, registering two lop-sided wins - 7-0 against Baunatal and 3-0 against Lupo-Martini - and a 1-1 draw with Norwich City.
Injury report
Bruno Genesio is knocking on wood for now. Save for a slight calf issue for Fernando Marçal, no major injury concerns have been reported in the Lyon camp. Something unusual for this time of year, but the boss is surely happy to have almost the entire squad at his disposal.
