International Champions Cup: OL women kick off training in Miami with some hoops!
July in Miami is synonymous with rain, so it’s no surprise that the OL women’s team’s first day of training in South Florida was interrupted by thundershowers. Reynald Pedros and his squad had an indoor session Monday morning inside the Barry University basketball court, where the players shot some hoops as part of their workout.
“We had to adapt quickly,” said Pedros. “We decided to play basketball in the gym. It was more or less a rehearsal session, we had to recover from the trip, but I really liked the players’ attitude. Everybody worked hard.”
An hour-long session that included passing drills, stretching and some high-tempo basketball games won by the yellow team (Hegerberg, Mbock, Weiss, Buchanan, Cascarino). "We really enjoyed this morning. It's a different way of working," said Griedge Mbock, impressed by her colleague Kadeisha Buchanan. "She's got some basketball skills. Not bad at all!"At 5 pm, the sun was back out so it was back on the soccer pitch for Lyon. This time it was pure football work, followed by cold baths. Two sessions are also scheduled for Wednesday. /p>
