Stage : Yassin à Saillon et Nabil à Saint-Pétersbourg pour écrire l’histoire des frères Fekir
While big brother Nabil is a World Cup semifinalist in Russia with Les Bleus, Yassin Fekir prepares for the upcoming 2018-19 with the OL first team in Saillon, Switzerland. Despite the distance and their busy schedules, the two siblings are in daily contact, offering each other mutual support.

Nabil Fekir, World Cup semifinalist

« I’ll sit quietly in front of the TV to support France. I hope my brother plays the match and, why not, scores a goal. It would be magical. My other brother and my father went to Russia to watch Nabil play. It's a pleasure and a huge source of pride to see your big brother play in a World Cup and go so far in the competition. I hope he wins it. I'm going to send him a message today to encourage him and show my support. He is happy playing in his first World Cup and getting some playing time. »

An unbreakable brotherly bond

« We are in constant contact, we talk to each other every day by phone. He asks me how it's going for me during the training camp and I ask him how it's going in Russia. It’s a good thing. Despite the distance, he continues to encourage me and give me advice. We help each other in those moments. It’s very important for us to be there for each other. »

Training camp

« I’m with the professional squad now, which is a great pleasure for me. We’re working very hard. It's a bit hard, but it’s normal for the preseason. I’ll do whatever I have to do, I won’t give up. I'm motivated. I’m getting my rhythm back thanks to the technical work. I’ll get it back little by little. There is a big difference in intensity between the reserves and the professional squad, especially during a training camp like this, you feel it even more. With other young players like me, we’re trying to raise our game in every aspect. »

Looking back at 2017-18

« I was injured for almost seven months last season, so it was a bit complicated at first. I managed to come back strong after my injury. I'm happy with how I performed with the reserves... My contract extension? It made me happy, it was a reward for my strong end of the season. »

Ambitions for the new season

« I will try to train as much as possible with the professional team, as was the case at the end of last season. »
