After a final session at the Groupama OL Training Center, the Lyon coach and captain Wendie Renard faced the media to preview Thursday's UEFA Women's Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Barcelona.

The OL women's team resumes its European adventure tomorrow night at Groupama Stadium, where a showdown with FC Barcelona in the first leg of UEFA Women's Champions League quarterfinals awaits. To prepare for this high-stakes encounter, Reynald Pedros and his staff supervised a final training session on Wednesday to go over their game plan, including tactics.

Reynald Pedros

« We've got a full squad for tomorrow. It's a special match. We really want to play it. We can't wait for tomorrow. We will play a very good team and under no circumstance will we take them for granted. We always respect our opponent. Barcelona is a team that has a lot of technical qualities. We have to be respected at home. We never think of defeat. We will do what is necessary to qualify. We need to see all the work that we've put in over the past seven months come to fruition. I arrived with a huge amount of enthusiasm in this team. Our way of working is a little different. I have smart players, players who listen. We are serious and professional. I haven't ushered in any kind of revolution at OL. I just made a few changes. »

Wendie Renard

« They've evolved as a team since we last played them. The most important part starts tomorrow, even if we haven't forgotten the previous results... We don't get tired of winning trophies. We know the feeling it brings. We have pressure every day because we represent an institution. Barcelona have recruited well this season. We will play to win from the start... We have experience managing highs and lows now. We are the defending champions and the trophy must remain in Rhone. »
