The Lyon coach and his players spoke to OLTV following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Angers.

Bruno Genesio
« These are two dropped points considering our ambitions to finish in the top spots. I still prefer to highlight my team’s reaction, how they tied the match and tried to turn things around. We are disappointed that we didn’t seize this opportunity. We had the ball, but failed to create spaces in the first half. It was a worst-case scenario situation when Angers scored. There will be many matches like the one we saw tonight, with opponents not coming here play. It’s always hard to thwart the plans of these of teams. »

Gérald Baticle

« We were better after the break, we created scoring situations. Angers were lacking in confidence and we let them settle into the game. We played at a much slower rhythm than what we’re used to….We rarely see man-to-man marking. They followed Fekir everywhere… There was perhaps additional pressure after the draw in Monaco. It’s a disappointing performance. »

Nabil Fekir
« It's not easy to play against individual man-marking. I tried to move around and find solutions. I had to adapt. We had to win tonight. There are regrets. We had a great opportunity to take second place. »

Anthony Lopes
« We managed to get back into the game. We only showed up for one half. We need to rectify this soon because we can’t afford to do it again on Wednesday. We lost two points tonight. We’ll try to bounce back against Guingamp. We tried to turn it around after the break. Their goalkeeper did a great job. »

Lucas Tousart
« We made it hard on ourselves by conceding the opening goal. Chasing the scoreline is always complicated. We stumbled against a very well organized opponent… the teams that come here are more and more afraid of us. Nabil Fekir didn’t get many touches because of the individual man-marking. It was hard to find him. We tried to adapt and play our game… We will play a decisive match Guingamp. These next weeks will be crucial for the team and our goals for this season. »
