Jean-Michel Aulas: 'We're disappointed but also extremely proud tonight'

Jean-Michel Aulas
"I have to underline the excellent performance turned in by my players
tonight. Ajax are a very good team and they decided to get stuck in physically,
committing a lot of fouls. We're extremely proud. We would have deserved a
fourth goal. I felt that the lads went very close to achieving a real feat. We need
to focus on the fact that we put together a great run in the Europa League. We
will reach the final another day. Next season's final is at the Parc OL. We
need to lick our wounds and get back to business ahead of the final two matches
of the Ligue 1 season.

We can still try to beat our total points tally from last season… We have
beaten some big teams. Our team have real character and that will hold us in
good stead in the challenges to come. We will get right back to work to build
an even stronger team. OL is a big club that can attract big players. Although
there will likely be some big-name departures, we will replace them with even
better players, if possible. I want to congratulate the fans who came to the
Parc OL, a stadium built for moments such as these. It has been a big success
with the people. Hats off to Ajax, whom I believe are capable of beating Manchester
in the final."
