France's U19 side turned in an excellent performance on Thursday to beat Portugal 3-1 in the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship 2016.

France's youngsters will be fighting it out for the title of European Champions against Italy this Sunday after scoring a terrific win over Portugal. Despite going behind early, Lucas Tousart and his teammates turned things around with an equaliser from Guingamp midfielder Ludovic Blas before pulling away in the second half thanks to a double from AS Monaco's Kylian Mbappé.

Once again, Lucas Tousart started in the centre of the park and played the full 90 minutes. The Olympique Lyonnais man, the captain of this cohort born in 1997, dreams of lifting the trophy in Sinsheim on Sunday. To do so, Les Bleuets will have to get past an Italy side that bested host nation Germany 2-1 in the tournament's other semi-final. Kick-off for the final will be at 20:30 and it will be shown live on L'équipe 21 and Eurosport.
