Masculins / FCN - OL

One point… that's all.

OL picked up a point without conceding a goal... while the team put an end to a run of three consecutive defeats, it was far from convincing performance...

Les Lyonnais made a pretty bright start to proceedings against a Nantes side that struggled to get going. Sala, however, had a great chance to score from a free-kick, but he headed wide... Both sides struggled for precision and rhythm... Rafaël, injured, was replaced by Tolisso (30'). Gonalons hit the top of the crossbar from a Mvuemba corner. Beauvue also had a good chance. Les Canaris looked technically weak, but still should have opened the scoring, only for Morel to block... and then Gorgelin produced a miraculous save in the OL goal... Nantes finished the half strongly and it was OL struggling. Gorgelin made a nother smart save at the feet of Sala.  OL began to doubt... Fournier's side wasn't taking any risks... Les Canaris looked dangerous when they got the ball wide...

Morel was excellent at the back for OL... both teams continued to struggle technically... OL slowly rediscovered their football... Ghezzal replaced Beauvue. The match failed to hit the heights… Del Castillo came on for Malbranque.  OL were sitting back and waiting for the full-time whistle… Neither side really looked like breaking the deadlock, despite a couple of half chances for Nantes...

OL stopped the bleeding after back to back Ligue 1 losses coupled with elimination from the Champions League. Lacking confidence, OL kept a clean sheet, which remains the one positive not of the evening... The team was never going to set the world alight, after such a difficult week… The squad, still without a number of players through injury and suspension, needs time...
