2014-15 Sseason Review: March

The month of March will be remembered for the loss to Nice and, more importantly, the loss of first place on the ladder…

After the loss to LOSC, OL bounced back in style against Montpellier. Like at the Stade de Gerland, Les Lyonnais were far too good. Lacazette, Fekir and Gourcuff set the tone with doubles to the first two. MHSC had opened the score, but before half-time, had already equalised before running away with it. Lopes saved a penalty at 3-1 which cut short any thoughts of a MHSC comeback.

Then it was off to the Stade Vélodrome for an intense top of the table clash. It finished scoreless thanks to two excellent goalkeepers. And there was also the controversy with OM's refused goal after the ball had crossed the line... but what about the foul on the Portuguese 'keeper Lopes? It was a good point for OL...

Unfortunately, it all came apart at the seams when OGCN visited Gerland. After an excellent start, OL were unable to find the opening goal and Les Aiglons took advantage to do just that. Despite playing with an extra man following Palun's sending off, OL came unstuck when they conceded a late penalty. A very bad result for OL who were without Lacazette, Bedimo and Umtiti suspended. PSG won and moved top of the table for the first time this season.
