Episode 34: Paris sent out a strong message on Saturday... But listen answered in style to keep their own title hopes alive... Marseille continue to slide and have seen Monaco and ASSE skip clear…

The top of the table is starting to take its definitive form. Marseille continue to struggle, and lost 5-3 at home to Lorient in the opening match of the round… it was a fourth consecutive defeat for Bielsa's men who now find themselves fifth - their lowest position since Week 3 of the season... They must bounce back against Monaco next weekend... because Les Monégasques won again, 3-0 against Lens, and a ninth straight game without defeat. A victory next week could seal them third place...

In the title race, Les Parisiens made a big impression in demolishing Lille 6-1…the capital club had drawn closer to Lyon's goal difference, which could yet come into play at the end of the season... because Les Gones are not giving up without a fight and defeated Reims 4-2 in the final match of the round. OL moved back to the top of the table ahead of Paris game in hand against Metz on Tuesday...

Saint-Etienne also recorded an important result with their 1-0 win over Montpellier…ASSE are fourth, ahead of Marseille, but also Bordeaux who could only draw 1-1 with Metz.

At the bottom of the table, it was Guingamp and Bastia that recorded the best results…both won against direct rivals, over Caen (2-0) and Evian (2-1), respectively. Evian have now dropped into the relegation zone... but there are still five teams covered by just three points looking to avoid that one remaining place in the drop zone alongside Lens and Metz… Toulouse are one of them, and after two wins, they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Nantes...

Les Lensois are now 99% sure of playing in Ligue 2 next season… Les Messins, have gone four games without defeat and still have a glimmer of hope... but only a glimmer as they must win against Paris on Tuesday...
