2014 in Review: November

November began perfectly with a first away win of the season and a contract extension for Gonalons. But it ended with the disappointment of a derby defeat... But OL were still sitting third on the ladder...

In imperial home form, the mission for OL was now to go in search of points on the road. OL did just that away to Nice, picking up a first away win of the campaign - an eighth match undefeated in the league. Lacazette was once again played a starring role...

The invincible run continued. The visit of Guingamp ended with another 3-1 home win and OL were more than ever ensconced in the top three. It was time then for another international break with the team on a high...

Would the international break, this time, break OL's momentum? The draw against Bastia offered a first hint of an answer... Les Lyonnais struggled to construct their game and suffered against a physical opponent... and this, just one week out from the derby against Saint-Etienne.

Despite only claiming a draw against Bastia, nobody imagined what was going to happen inside Le Chaudron. Despite an excellent week's preparations, Les Lyonnais failed to show up for their match. And they paid the price with a 3-0 loss.

But before then, there was the eagerly anticipated announcement of a new contract extension within the playing ranks... That of captain Maxime Gonalons.
