11 OL players in the play-offs

It was a victorious week-end for OL's international players, who all qualified for the play-off matches for the 2011 World Cup.

France have definitively assured first place in their group, by winning 1-0 away to Iceland, their main opponents. The goal was scored by the Juvisy striker Gaëtane Thiney in the 60th minute of play. Laura Georges, Corine Franco, Elodie Thomis and Louisa Nécib were all in the starting line-up, the latter was replaced by Eugénie Le Sommer with 20 minutes of the match to go. Sandrine Dusang and Sabrina Viguier remained on the bench.

Ingvild Stansland, captain, and Isabell Herlovsen, who came off in the 60th minute, were easy winners in Slovakia (4-0). With this victory they retained first p^lace in their group ahead of Holland.

Lotta Schelin and her team-mates ensured a place in the play-offs by beating the Czech Republic 1-0 away from home. The OL striker played the full encounter.

Captain Lara Dickenmann and Switzerland confirmled their victory in Russia, with an 8-0 defeat of Kazakhstan, at Fribourg.

France, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland join England and Italy. The last two places will be decided in the matches between Denmark and Scotland, Ukraine and Poland. The eight teams will face each other in two legged matches between the 11th and 16th of September. The winners will be qualified while the losers will face each other in a mini-championship, the winner of which will face the 3rd place side from the CONCACAF.
