In numbers

The Olympique Lyonnais amateur section has existed since 1950. Its aim is to detect and nurture young footballing talent. At OL, academic results are equally important as sporting performances.

OL has 375 licensed players, of which, 140 are young footballers doing Sports Studies within the Centre de Formation (Youth Development Centre), run conjointly between a director of sporting activities and an educational director.

The housing centre accommodates 25 boarders in 17 roomsbr />
The education is undertaken in a normal high school until the age of 15, and then in specially tailored classes in college, in order for the students to prepare their Baccalauréats (Higher School Certificate), in 4 years instead of 3, and also to pass a business diploma (BEP VAM).

The footballers that continue their studies into college are housed at the boarding school at the St Louis – St Bruno College. Successful Baccalauréats: 90 %

The club also boasts 45 team officials, 38 trainers and 10 referees for the 19 teams: 6 juniors, 4 Under-12s, 3 Under 14s, 2 Under-16s, 2 Under-18s and 2 Under-21s.
