How is the squad after their elimination from the Champions League?
Calm. I don’t think they have been knocked out after the elimination, they are disappointed as we had hoped to pull off a result. But you can’t just order something like that and we didn’t manage to do it. We weren’t far off if Kader Keita’s shot had gone in instead of hitting the post, we could have forced extra time. Now we have to forget the « Champions League » and refocus on the league.

Are the players ready to go back out? We have 48 hours to prepar for the match. We may not have gotten over the physical aspect of the game aganst Manchester. It was an intense game and you have to decompress after something like that which is what we are doing at the moment. We will be ready for Sunday, theplayers are more than capable of playing another game this week.

Will a draw against Bordeaux be a good result?
I’m sure it would be for Bordeaux. Less so for us. That would allow us to stay ahead of them, but we are playing at home and logic would have us take all points from our home games. The champions will have around about 72-73 points, we have to go and win them.

The President came by this morning, what did he say?
He talked about his satisfaction concerning the games against Manchester. After one of your objectives is gone winning another helps and a 7th title would be magnificent. We know what we have to do and are also still in the Coupe de France. We left the Champions League with our heads held high and we know we are a tour place in that competition. It’s not easy to get into the top 16, never mind the top 8…Maybe next year.

How are you going to deal with Benzema and Fred up front?
We’ll have a look at the form and the fitness of each player. We have another training session tomorrow and there are other players looking for a spot. It’s not all about Fred & Benzema, we will try to balance things out so that we can be more competitive. The group that played against Manchester played well and I’m tempted to start with the same line-up.
It’s nothing to do with Fred, just the confidence of a coach in his team, we’ll look at everything on Saturday.

Bordeaux are right back in the running…
They have played well since January. They are a team that is explosive, on a good run as their 6-0 win against Monaco proves. I think they let the UEFA Cup go in order toconcentrate on the league. Since they did that they are our main opponent for the title. We know all about their individualities Wendel, Micoud, Chamack…Cavenaghi is playing well as well. The defence is solid. They have all the components necessary to be an opponent for the title.
