In drawing 1-1 with Messina, AS Roma once again dropped 2 points on league leaders Inter Milan, who are now 9 points in front of Francesco Totti and team.
The Romans also saw their Milanese rivals break Roma’s record by posting their 12th consecutive win.
Just before half time, Mancini, fed by his captain Francesco Totti, opened the scoring. IN the second half, De Rossi hit the post before Chivu conceded a penalty in the dying seconds of the match. Parisi fired home from the spot to secure the draw for Messina.
Even though he didn’t score, Totti remains head of the goalscorers’ chart with 12 goals from 19 matches.

The Roma line-up: Doni, Panucci, Ferrari, Chivu, Perrotta (Cassetti 82e), Totti, Tonetto, Pizarro, Taddei (Wilhelmsson 80e), Mancini, De Rossi.
