How has OL come back from the break in the five years it has been champion of France? Really rather well…
In 2001-2002, won out over Guingamp 4-2; 3 goals to Delmotte and one to Anderson. OL was 2 points behind leader Lens at the break.

In 2002-2003, Lyon beat Monaco 1-0; one goal to Luyindula. OL was 2 points behind leader OM at the break.

In 2003-2004, heavy defeat in Monaco 3-0; 2 goals to Giuly and one to Morientes. Lyon was 7 points behind leaders Monaco at the break, while both teams had a game in hand.

In 2004-2005, a 2-0 victory in Sochaux; one goal to Bergougnoux and one to Diarra. OL led second-placed Lille by 3 points at the break.

In 2005-2006, a 4-0 win at Strasbourg; 3 goals by Wiltord and one by Berthod. OL had a 12-point lead over second-placed Lens at the break.

In 2005-2006, OL followed the victory at Strasbourg by stringing together 6 league matches without defeat.

In the last five seasons, OL has twice had a better record in the second half of the season than in the first: in 2003-2004, 44 points to 35 and in 2004-2005, 40 points to 39. 2 times, OL had an identical points record on either side of the break: in 2001-2003, 33 points and in 2002-2003, 34 points. Only once in the last five years has OL done worse in the second half of the season: in 2005-2006, 40 points to 44. It’s also the first time that OL had such a lead at the break.
