Past examples of Romario or Ronaldo only confirm that PSV Eindhoven has a tradition of discovering of great Brazilian talent. But the latest star of the Phillips Stadion is not Brazilian, but Peruvian. Jefferson Farfan was born in Lima on October 26, 1984
In the current 2005/2006 season, he has already scored 15 goals in 22 league games and 20 goals in all competitions

On Saturday night he delivered PSV a small but precious victory over a tenacious Heracles Armelo.

For 72 minutes, Guus Hiddink's players threw everything at a well-organised defence determined not to concede a goal. After a very tight first half the hosts upped the tempo in the second half and deservedly went in front thanks to Jefferson Farfan's 20m free-kick (72'). Just a few minutes from the end, Heracles Armelo striker, Sota Hirayama, lost his one-on-one with Gomez and the chance to earn a share of the spoils.
Young American Lee Nguyen, 19yrs, also made his debut for PSV. He replaced Beasley in the 61st minute.

In the standings, PSV capitalised on Feyenoord's 3-" draw with NAC Breda to extend their lead at the top of the Eredivisie to five points from Feyenoord Rotterdam and AZ Alkmaar.

This Friday, February 17 at 20:30, they take on Vitesse Arnhem in Week 25 action of the Dutch league.

PSV(v Heracles): Gomes - Addo, Ooijer, Reiziger, Lamey - Simons (Aissati 53), Afellay, Cocu – Vennegoor of Hesselink, Farfan, Beasley (Nguyen 61).
